During the previous weekend our swimmers have participated in International Swim Meeting (ISM) 2016 in Berlin, Germany. The competition was held from 4-6.March in Berlins’ famous Schwimm- und Sprunghalle im Europasportpark (SSE).
This year, swim meet has gathered 1412 swimmers from 168 clubs and 26 countries all around the world.
We had a fantastic weekend behind, where our swimmers set many personal best results and get qualifications for summer jrNM.
So let’s start!
Vestbyen IL Svømming took a part in ISM 2016 with 11 swimmers (3 girls & 8 boys) who shown high level of seriousness and professionalism during the competition days. That resulted that our swimmers achieve very good results and swim fantastic in both individual races and relays. Many personal best results were not a surprise, especially if we take into account the complete macrocycle that the team has passed through as they planned.
First great team achievement is a Bronze medal won in mixed relay on 4 x 100m freestyle.
The relay composition was:
1. Maximilian Westen Aune
2. Martine Selvik
3. Sigrid Steen
4. Jonas Roseth
Also, not less valuable were results which our swimmers achieved in single races. That brought some of them jrNM qualifications for the nationals in summer.
Iver Ørbog took NM qualifying times for 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke.
On the other hand, Jonas Roseth took NM qualifying time for 50m freestyle and was very close (only 30 hundredths) on 100m free.
Max W. Aune was very close to get NM qualifying time for 50m breast (20 hundredths) also. He will be ‘attacking’ NM qualifying time on one of the next competitions for sure.
