During the previous weekend (Week 9) our swimmers have participated in International Swim Meeting (ISM) 2017 in Berlin, Germany. The competition was held from 3-5.March in Berlins’ famous Schwimm- und Sprunghalle im Europasportpark (SSE). This year, swim meet has gathered more than 1000 swimmers from 174 clubs and 23 countries all around the world.

Vestbyen had an amazing weekend behind, where our swimmers set many personal best results and get qualification times for NM Sr and summer NM Jr which will take place in Pirbadet in July this year.

Vestbyen IL Svømming took a part in ISM 2016 with record 18 swimmers (8 girls & 10 boys) who shown high level of competency and professionalism during the competition days. That resulted our swimmers achieved very good results and swim fantastic in their individual races. Many personal best results were not a surprise, especially if we consider all the trainings that we have passed through as we’ve planned.

Results that our swimmers have achieved brought some of them NM qualifications for both Senior and Junior nationals.

Simon Moe took Senior NM qualifying times for 50m backstroke and UM qualification time for 50m freestyle.

Margrethe Kvelstad took Junior NM qualifying time on 50m breaststroke.

Einar Skoglund took UM qualifying time for 100m butterfly.

Also, there was plenty of good results (personal records) that are also worth of mentioning. Our swimmers had amazing weekend in general. A huge satisfaction for coaches to lead such a big and successful group of young people.
