During the week 18 our club has participated on one of the most famous swimming competitions in Norway, Bergen Swim Festival 2017. The competition was held from 05-07.May in Bergens’ famous swim hall – AdO Arena.This year, the competition has gathered 624 swimmers in male and female category, from 83 clubs and 8 european countries.
Some of the greatest swimmers have promoted the competition this year such us multiple world champion and world record holder Katinka Hosszú from Hungary, Olympic medalists Sarah Sjöström from Sweden and Ranomi Kromowidjojo from Netherlands.
Our club had amazing weekend, where our swimmers set many personal best results and some of them get qualifications for summer NM.
Vestbyen IL Svømming took a part in BSF 2016 with 9 swimmers (6 girls & 3 boys) who have shown high level of seriousness and professionalism during the competition days. That resulted our swimmers achieve very good results and swim fantastic.
The results which our swimmers achieved in single races brought Einar Skoglund, Patricia Lysvoll and Margrethe Kvelstad NM qualifications for the upcoming nationals in Pirbadet.
Also Iver Ørbog won two second places in 50m and 100m breaststroke. Tomine H. Fjorden made the finals on 200m breaststroke with her personal best time, getting closer to UM/jrNM qualification time.
