At this year’s LÅMØ, which was held from 10-12.Febuary in five different regions (Nord – Hammerfest, Midt – Ålesund, Vest – Førde, Øst – Lambertseter and Sør – Sandefjord), gathered 1187 swimmers aged 11 to 16 years in total.
In addition to promote and get the region’s most versatile swimmers, the competition has also been direct qualification for 13, 14, 15 and 16 year old boys and girls to ÅM which will be held in Levanger 21.-23.April. The 3 best 11 and 12 year olds nationwide will receive a diploma from the NSF.
Vestbyen IL Svømming took a part in LÅMØ Midt Norge this year too, with 11 swimmers (7 girls & 4 boys) and achieved very good results both individually and as a team. We have won 22 medals total (10 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze).
The following swimmers won medals on the competition:
Benedikte Holm Håheim won 2 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze. (2nd place for age 2005)
Sunniva Haugen won 1 bronze medal (5th place overall for age 2005)
Ada Viken Refseth 1 gold, 1 bronze. (5th place overall for age 2004)
Patricia Lysvoll won 1 gold and 3 silver medals. (2nd place overall for age 2003)
Tomine Hugaas Fjorden won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. (3rd place overall for age 2002)
Jonas Johansen won 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. (2nd place overall for age 2002)
Simon Moe won 4 gold medals. (1st place overall for age 2001)

We would like to single out two facts.
First is that two of ours swimmers qualified for ÅM – Patricia Lysvoll and Simon Moe.
Second fact is that our LÅMØ team had 89,09% improvement in personal best times. If we take into account the size of a team, this is a remarkable achievement.
49 out of 55 races were personal best results.
